The band will not do anything Red Hot Chili Peppers related for at least a year.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have disbanded for at least a year, according to the band’s frontman, Anthony Kiedis.

Kiedis revealed to Rolling Stone that the band has decided to step away from music in order to concentrate more on their individual lives. The singer went on to say that the band collectively decided to step away from music over the next 12 months because of, among other things, becoming exhausted from the hectic schedule that comes with being one of the world’s most successful bands.

Kiedis personally will spend more time with his family in California, but went on to say that bassist Flea and guitarist John Frusciante plan to work on individual projects.

“We’re disbanded for the moment,” he said. “We took a very long time to make the Stadium Arcadium record (2006). It was a grueling, long haul and it followed two other very long hauls, Californication (1999) and By the Way (2002).”
